The read receipts which is also known as blue ticks is a feature that is enabled on all WhatsApp accounts by default; this feature allows the sender to know that the receiver has read the message.

Below are the steps to place a WhatsApp widget on your home screen:

• Long press your home screen and the choose “Widgets.”
• Move down to the bottom. Now, you can see all your WhatsApp widgets.
• Then long press the Whatsapp widget and then drop it on your home screen.

• On the confirmation popup, select the “Create” option.

Now, you should see the WhatsApp widget. You can resize it if you want to.

From hence forth, when you receive a message on Whatsapp, you will be able to view it in the widget.

If you want to use this method, the only downside of the method is that you won’t be able to see any photos sent to you until you click it.

Nevertheless, if you did not disable media auto download, then you should be able to see the media you have received.
